This document describes the Apple SerialDMA Ver.2.0.2 extension. If your Macintosh is one of the following and SerialDMA Ver.2.0.2 is not installed, please install the extension in this package as described below:
Another requirement in addition to the Macintosh model is that System 7.5, 7.5.1 or 7.5.2 is being used. Use SerialDMA Ver.2.0.2 only with the configurations as detailed in this section.
B. How to check whether SerialDMA Ver.2.0.2 is installed in your system
SerialDMA Ver.2.0.2 should be installed in the Extensions folder. Open the system folder and the Extensions folder, then check whether it is installed. To check the version number of the file, click the file and select Get Info from the File menu.
C. Installing SerialDMA Ver.2.0.2
Please make sure that your are running one of the following Macintosh System software versions. If not, do not install SerialDMA Ver.2.0.2.

System 7.5.1
System 7.5.2
Note that System 7.5.3 and newer Macintosh System versions do not require SerialDMA Ver.2.0.2. Do not install SerialDMA Ver.2.0.2 if you are running System software version 7.5.3 or above.
To install this extension, drag it onto the Extension folder of your hard disk. The system will remind you that extensions need to be placed in the Extensions folder; click OK and SerialDMA Ver.2.0.2 will be copied. After the extension is in your system, you need to restart your Macintosh.
D. Note
The Serial Port Arbitrator that ships as part of AppleTalk Remote Access conflicts with SerialDMA Ver.2.0.2 when running on Macintosh 7200, 7500, 8500 and 9500. Remove the Serial Port Arbitrator from the Extensions folder if installed.
